Dashboard

The dashboard is the central hub for managing your Lumio account. Its home page shows your channel status at a glance, a summary of your recent streams, and a panel for firing test events; the sidebar takes you to every other feature — chat, events, overlays, automations, and the rest. This page is for streamers, moderators, and team members who have been added to an account.

Where to find it

• URL: /dashboard
• Shown automatically right after you sign in.
• The sidebar on the left is always available while you are inside the app.

Quick start

1. Sign in via the Login button — pick Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Trovo, or Discord.
2. If you do not have a streaming platform linked yet, the dashboard shows a Connect a streaming platform banner — click the platform you want to add.
3. Open Connections in the sidebar and connect at least one channel so Lumio can read your chat and events.
4. Back on the dashboard, confirm the channel panel shows a card for your channel with a Live badge while you stream.
5. Use the sidebar to create your first overlay, automation, or command.

Header controls

The top-right corner of the dashboard header contains two icon buttons:

• Shield — Toggles Streamer Mode on/off. Highlighted when active. Masks sensitive data (IDs, tokens, credentials) across the entire dashboard, replacing it with dots — ideal when your dashboard is visible on stream.
• Bell — Opens the notification dropdown.

Layout at a glance

The dashboard page is composed of several stacked panels. Which ones you see depends on your plan and your permissions.

Upgrade banner

If you are the account owner on the free plan, a dismissable banner appears at the top with the label Unlock the full potential of Lumio and an Upgrade to Pro button. Click Upgrade to Pro to open the billing page, or click the X icon to dismiss it for the current session.

Streaming-platform onboarding

If the only login you have is Discord (no streaming platform linked), a warning panel labelled Connect a streaming platform appears. It lists quick-connect buttons for Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and Trovo. Click one to start the OAuth link flow. After authorizing, you are redirected back to the dashboard and the banner disappears.

Channel cards

Once at least one streaming platform is connected, a card is shown for every connected channel with:

• Channel avatar, username, and platform label, plus an external link to the channel.
• A LIVE badge and a pulsing red dot on the avatar while the channel is live; a yellow dot when a broadcast is scheduled but you are not live.
• While live: the current Viewers count, and on YouTube additionally Likes and Views when the platform reports them.
• While live: the stream title and category underneath.
• Upcoming scheduled broadcasts (YouTube), each with its title, scheduled start time, and a link to the watch page.

The cards update in real time through the WebSocket connection — there is no refresh button.

Recent streams

If your plan includes Stream History, a Recent streams panel lists your last few sessions. Each row shows the platform icons, the stream title, the start date, the duration (counting up while a session is still live), the category, and four key metrics: peak viewers, messages, new followers, and unique chatters. View all opens the full Stream History page with filters and charts.

Test events

If your plan includes Overlays, a collapsible Test Events panel sits at the bottom of the dashboard. Expand it and you get:

• A row of platform tabs — Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Trovo, Spotify, StreamElements, Discord, Copyright, Shopify.
• When you have more than one overlay, a row of small overlay buttons to pick which one you are previewing against.
• A grid of event buttons for the selected platform (follow, subscriber, cheer, tip, and so on).

Clicking an event button broadcasts a realistic sample event to everything listening on the account — overlays, popouts, and automations — without storing it in your event history. Use this to preview animations before going live.

The dashboard home itself has no event feed or chat view; those live on their own pages (Events and Chat in the sidebar).

Sidebar sections

Below the account switcher, the sidebar groups features into collapsible sections. Entries are filtered automatically based on your role permissions and the features enabled for your plan — you may not see every item listed below, and a section disappears entirely when none of its entries are visible to you. Clicking a section header collapses or expands it, and your choice is remembered in that browser.

The Dashboard entry sits on its own above the first section. You can collapse the whole sidebar down to icons with the panel button next to the Lumio logo.

Stream

• Overlays — Browse, create, rename, organise into folders, and delete overlay configurations. Each overlay has its own URL for browser sources. See the Overlays guide.
• Chat — Full-page multichat across every connected platform. See the Chat guide.

• Music — Spotify now-playing state and playback controls. See the Music guide.

Extensions

Only shown to approved extension developers, and only while no account is selected in the account switcher: My Extensions, New Extension, Team, Team Members, Verification, and Payouts.

Account

• Profile — Display name, avatar, and linked login providers.
• Developer — The developer application and developer profile. Only shown while no account is selected in the account switcher.
• Sessions — Active sessions; revoke any you no longer recognise.
• Settings — Notification preferences and account settings.
• Subscription (owner only) — Plan and renewal.
• Billing (owner only) — Payment method and invoices.

Common scenarios

First-time setup

1. Sign in with your main streaming identity.
2. Go to Connections and connect every platform you stream on.
3. Go to Roles and review the four defaults (Owner, Administrator, Moderator, Viewer).
4. Go to Members and invite your moderators with the Moderator role.
5. Go to Overlays and create your first overlay.
6. Open the overlay URL as a browser source in OBS.
7. Expand Test Events on the dashboard and fire a sample event to confirm everything is wired up.

Adding a moderator quickly

1. From the sidebar, open Members.
2. Click Invite, choose Invite Link, select the Moderator role, pick a validity, and click Create Invite.
3. Copy the link and send it to your moderator.

Account switching

If you are a member of multiple accounts, the active account is switched via the account picker at the top of the sidebar. The dashboard then reloads all data for the new account, including events, overlays, and permissions.

Permissions

Most sidebar entries are gated by a resource:action permission and by a feature being enabled for your plan — both must be satisfied for the entry to appear. The account Owner role holds every permission.

If an entry is missing from your sidebar, either your role does not grant the corresponding :read permission or the feature is not part of your plan. Ask your account owner to adjust your role, or open Roles yourself if you have roles:edit.

Tips and best practices

• Pin the Chat and Events pages as browser tabs while you stream — they are the fastest way to react to your audience.
• Fire a test event before every stream to confirm overlays, sound alerts, and automations still fire correctly after any config change.
• Dashboard data is loaded server-side on first render (SSR) and then kept live via WebSocket. If you suddenly see a static view, it usually means the WebSocket dropped — refresh the page.
• The upgrade banner is dismissed per browser session only; it will reappear next time you log in until you upgrade.
• If you manage multiple brands, create a separate Lumio account per brand and use account switching — do not try to multiplex channels into one account.

Troubleshooting

The dashboard is stuck on "Connect a streaming platform" even though I added Twitch. The onboarding banner only disappears once you finish the OAuth linking flow. If you closed the tab mid-flow, click a platform button again — it will not create a duplicate.

I see "No events yet" on the Events page but I know events are coming in. Three things to check: (1) your plan actually includes the Events feature, (2) the active account is the correct one (account picker in the sidebar), and (3) the channel connection is healthy — open Connections and look for an expired-token warning.

My channel card has no LIVE badge but my stream is live. Live status polling depends on the platform's own API. Twitch usually refreshes within 1 minute, YouTube within 2 minutes. If it stays offline, reconnect the channel in Connections.

Sidebar entries are missing. Your role does not include the :read permission for that section. Go to Roles (if you can see it) or ask your account owner.

Real-time updates stop after my laptop wakes from sleep. Lumio reconnects automatically with exponential backoff, up to a 30 s ceiling. If updates do not resume within 30–60 s, refresh the page.
