Streamer Mode
Streamer Mode hides sensitive data across your Lumio dashboard — platform IDs, email addresses, credential hints, and similar identifiers are replaced with dots (••••••••). This keeps private information off-screen while you show your dashboard on a live stream.
Where to find it
There are three ways to toggle Streamer Mode:
- Header icon — The Shield icon next to the notification bell in the top bar. One click toggles it on or off, and the icon is highlighted while it is active. The top bar is hidden on the full-screen pages (Chat, Events, and the overlay editor), so use one of the options below from there.
- Settings page — Go to Dashboard > Settings. Streamer Mode is the first section, with an Off / On switch.
- Popout settings — In the chat, events, and music popouts, open the gear icon and scroll to the Streamer Mode row in the settings panel.
Your choice is saved to your user account, so it follows you to a new browser or device the next time you sign in. Tabs and popout windows already open in the same browser pick up the change immediately.
Streamer Mode belongs to you, not to a channel. It is available no matter which entry is selected in the account switcher, including your personal profile, and the same value applies to every channel you switch to.
What gets masked
When Streamer Mode is active, the following data is replaced with dots:

Public information like channel names, display names, and avatars remains visible — only identifiers and secrets are masked.
The value is not merely blurred: it is swapped out for a placeholder, so the real value is not sitting in the page where a screen reader or a viewer could pull it out.
Revealing individual fields
Each masked field has an Eye icon next to it — for input fields, inside the field on the right. Click the icon to temporarily reveal that specific value (the icon switches to EyeOff). Click again to mask it again. Revealing a field does not turn off Streamer Mode — only that one field becomes visible.
Password fields are always masked with the same Eye control, whether or not Streamer Mode is on.
Permissions
Streamer Mode is a personal user preference — no RBAC permission is required. Every user can toggle it on their own account regardless of their role.
Tips
- Toggle it before going live. The Shield icon in the top bar is the fastest way — one click, no page navigation needed.
- Popout windows follow automatically. If you toggle Streamer Mode in the main dashboard, open popout windows (chat, events, music) update immediately.
- Credential setup is safe. The setup wizard for app credentials and the StreamElements token field mask their inputs while Streamer Mode is active, so you can enter Client IDs and secrets on stream without exposing them.
- Revealing is per-field. You can temporarily reveal one ID without exposing everything else. The Eye toggle only affects the field you click.
